and on Day Two…
Slept very badly. Right behind the tent the nature reserve, running water and noisy geese all night.
Popped down to Salisbury, mainly to see the Amesbury Archer. Salisbury Museum was packed with prehistoric goodies – including examples of Bronxe Age rapiers of similar design to the ones we made with Neil Burridge. Didn’t want to leave.
Popped over to Glastonbury as we’d never been – not before a wrong turn which led us to find Figsbury Rings (but nowhere to stop). I hadn’t expected quite the number of shops devoted to the esoteric.
There seemed to be alot of rubbish on sale – but the shopkeepers themselves seemed knowledgeable and genuine. I’m guessing much of what was on offer was aimed at the day-tripper rather than the devotee.
